Doulton Burslem
Doulton Burslem was pottery manufacturer operating in Burslem, Stoke-on-Trent, England, from 1877 to 1956. The company was known for producing high-quality earthenware and porcelain, often decorated with intricate designs and vibrant colors. The 'Rutland" pattern, as seen in the mark, was one of their popular designs, often featuring floral motifs and elegant shapes. Royal Doulton acquired Doulton Burslem in 1882, and the Burslem factory continued to produce a wide range of decorative and functional wares under the Royal Doulton name. Pieces marked with 'Doulton Burslem' are generally considered to be from the late 19th or early 20th century. The presence of a registration number (R16855) and U.S. .Patent nark suggests that this piece was intended for export to the United States.
